A few weeks ago, I posted all the flowers I shot on Instax film, but this week, we came upon an insane deal. A guy was selling his XT-4 kit — body, 3 lenses, batteries, charger, Small Rig all for a stupidly low, almost suspiciously could-be-a-scam price. But in fact, it was not a scam and I basically bought back a Fuji kit that I gave up last year in favor of Canon.
While Canon is a technical powerhouse, there was just something about Fuji that made me enjoy shooting way more. Looking back, I think my Fuji shots were superior simply because I liked it more.
After a year with Canon, I don’t regret switching to it as it makes my job a hell of a lot easier. The low light capabilities along with an insanely large lens line up made it a no brainer. But, I did notice I didn’t shoot for fun anymore, only for work. This deal was kind of a godsend in the midst of me losing momentum for photography in general.
So, we took the XT-4 out for a test run, everything was great except she’s got a dirty sensor, which was easily cleaned up. While walking around and shooting mindlessly, I gravitated towards flowers, go figure. I like pretty colors, and nothing gets color quite like Fuji. I made up a film sim recipe on the go, and it turned out marvelously.
Here they are, shot on both the 90mm f2.0 and 33mm f1.4.
