Every once in a while, some kind of small coincidence happens and I like to remind myself that while I don’t 100% subscribe to the idea of “There are no coincidences,” I like remind my cynical self that sometimes, life can be a bit magical.
Today, I was walking with Pauline post a big brunch full of heavy foods like cheese, eggs, and gravy. I could feel my energy level start to drop at an alarming rate as my body struggled to digest the meal. Combined with the cloudy grey cast over everything, it felt like I was on the verge of comatose.
I know we were about a block away from a shop that sells energy drinks, and as I turned to her to suggest we pop in there to grab a can of Celsius, two girls appeared and held up cold cans of the very same energy drink right in front of us and asked if we wanted them.
They were promoters giving away free samples, and I was in a stupor between my slowed processing and feeling stunned. I said yes perhaps a bit too enthusiastically, and said we’d each take one. Since Pauline was not a partaker of highly caffeinated beverages, both of them were decidedly mine.
Did I just summon Celsius angels? And the one handed to me was indeed my favorite flavor — Arctic Vibe. What exact flavor that is, I couldn’t begin to describe in words.
I was thankful for this tiny miracle. It was the perfect timing of something so mundane happening that it makes me question what exactly coincidences are and are not.
Even if it has no greater meaning, I thoroughly enjoyed my Celsius as if it was a divine gift, because when we got back to the house eventually, I noticed that Solen had taken the last of our Celsius stash without my knowledge.
The universe works in mysteriously caffeinated ways.
