A few days ago, Hampus was talking about getting a tarot reading from someone he barely knows on Instagram. I responded that I wanted a tarot reading as well. A day later, while looking through a little library, as per usual, I found a deck of cards — The Golden Dawn Tarot Deck.
As I opened the box to inspect it, the first card I pulled out was the page of wands. Long story short, Pauline and I asked DeepSeek to give us a 20 question quiz a week prior to this, to determine which tarot card we most resembled. It was like a tailor made Buzzfeed quiz with 78 possible results. I got the page of wands.
While Solen was sure that abandoned tarot cards were cursed, I wanted it immediately. As we took it home and I took the entire thing out of its old looking box to examine, I found that the cards were in near mint condition aside from a bit of yellowing around the edges, and sorted in order. Whoever gave these up either never used them (no scuff marks on any card) or was very gentle with them, and ordered them before saying good bye.
Today, I finally did a reading with them. I asked what I needed to know about my current (unhappy) living situation in regards to someone we will call CB who also resides in the house.
- Princess (page) of swords — Pages denote something new but undeveloped. In this case I think it’s the clarity that there’s nothing more to be done regarding CB. I can see through her weird antics and demands as manipulation tactics to control her living environment. I see this, but don’t have a great strategy to deal with it yet.
- 4 of pentacles — Her miserly energy, clinging onto every ounce of control she can manage to get her hands on. Her inflexible thinking and entitlement, guarding what she deems as ‘hers’ even though we are also paying rent.
- 10 of pentacles — No question we will be moving out when the timing is right and we have the funds to. Once we do it will be a rich and fulfilling place of safety.
Note: Pentacles and swords clash, and since it’s 2v1 here, I’m the one taking the brunt of the bad vibes. I pulled an extra card for, “How do I stay sane before we move out?”
- Strength — Inner strength and patience. I need to develop some sort of way to tame my anger and frustration about CB and not let them control my emotions. Using gentle power (grey rocking) to negate her controlling vibes. Inner peace is the greatest weapon.
